Hello Each
A couple of things I could do with help on please.
One of my 9th Bn Sherwood Foresters has the wrong death date on CWGC and Soldiers Died. The CWGC seem to think that Connaught Cemetery and Constance Trench are some way apart ! My man was found in October 1919 in a battlefield grave but no date of death was given. He was found at 57d. R. 14. a. 9. 1. I think he was killed on 22nd or 26 Sept 1916 but the records have 22 January 1916 (9th in Egypt). In January 1916 the area was also in German hands ! As usual I have the wrong map in the right scale and the right map in the wrong scale !! I would be obliged if someone could give me the location. I will be getting the death certificate as well in the hope it has the correct date of death.
Secondly - Someone has asked me the location of Devil's Ridge in France. The lady thinks He may have gone to Canada and returned to fight aged 47. Sadly he has no clue to his Regiment !! but he was supposedly killed in action ( Although I cannot find him!) - Charles William Walters born 1867 Cookshill Staffs.
I would be grateful for any advice that I could give her.
Builders are done, only 8 rooms to decorate now !, then back to the research.

Regards
Steve
