Hi
In the case of my relative, he earned himself the MM on July 3rd-4th 1916, was officially awarded it in mid-August but received it in December that year when he was back home from the front for a while.
Hope that helps.
Regards
Michelle

for the award of the Military Medal and the Gazetted notice? The idea is to
attempt to search the appropriate war diary for some indication as to the
possible events/action leading to the award? If it helps with comments on
this the date I am interested in is November 1916 , guessing that the time
lag could be partly dependant on the amount of activity at the time.
Many thanks
