Hello, am new to looking into my family background, and of course noticed your message. My grandfather Anastasios Stavrinos (born in the late 1800's) came from Smyrna, Turkey to the states in 1913 to settle in Pgh, PA. I am not sure where he was born and raised as a young child. My mother told me years ago that they had traced the family some 200 years back and now that I have started on my quest, at 93 she can't give me any info. I do know that in 1922 my great-grandmother and great-grandfather walked from their home to the boats going to mainland Greece where they lived out the remainder of their lives. Am not sure if they were on my grandmother's side or grandfather's side. Wish all of us luck in finding ou roots.
