In some earlier Digests some people were querying how they might find
records of people born in Turkey. I too am interested in this, for my
husband's father went from Turkey to Limnos in 1916 (approx). I
recently read a book called 'Not even my name' by Thea Halo
(www.notevenmyname.com) and this recounts the story of one small girl
(the author's mother), and this then led me to look on the internet for
other information and I found a document which may shed some light on
the tragedy of the period that people seem to be examining. It can be
found at http:/www.Greece.org/genocide/blackbook.htm "the blackbook of
the sufferings of the Greek people in Turkey from the Armistice to the
end of 1920'.
Any ideas about how to follow up records would be gratefully received.
