Interesting this talk of James Green(e). My Greene family is spelled both
ways. My gg grandfather, James M. Green, was born about 1835 and I believe
in Tenn. although legend places him with Cherokee connections and living in
Oklahoma until mid 1800's. Same legend connects his wife Louisa Marlow
(born in Camden Co., Mo. in 1838) with Cherokee and returing with James from
Oklahoma by covered wagon. Children were: Bob, Evelyn, Martha Ellen, Viola,
Nancy, Laura, and James Thomas. His son James Thomas Greene was born in
1871 in Montgomery Co., TN and my grandfather James Alvin Greene (siblings
Walter, Wallace, Ida, Ethel, Martha Jewell) was born in 1907 in Dickson Co.,
TN. If anyone on here connects to these folks, would like to know it.
