Vandalia, June 14th - (Dr.) MARK GREER and Miss Iris Klasing both of this city and both connected with the MARK GREER hospital, the former as founder and the latter as superintendent for the last two [2] years, took the marriage vows at the altar of "The Little Church Around the Corner," in New York City, Friday morning. Present at the wedding, which is the culmination of a very charming romance was Miss ELIZABETH GREER, of Chicago, a nurse and sister of (Dr.) Greer, who joined them as they passed through Chicago en route to the metropolis.
Following a ten-days honeymoon, to be spent principal in and around New York, (Dr.) and Mrs. Greer will return to Vandalia.
SON OF A DOCTOR -
(Dr.) GREER is a native of Vandalia, a son of the late (Dr.) GEORGE GREER, who was a medical practitioner, here and in this vicinity for twenty-five [25] years. He wasgraduated from the Washington University Medical School. Since then he has taken post graduate courses in New York City clinics and medical schools.
With the cooperation of the Vandalia Chamber of Commerce and other organizations, (Dr.) GREER founded the MARK GREER hospital here in 1925. It is adirectly across the street west from the hospital at the corner of West Jackson and North Eighths Streets, in the new Scheneker Court Addition, that (Dr.) Greer has built a beautiful home for the occupancy of himself and his bride.
OVER SEAS SOLDIER -
(Dr.) GREER was an over-seas soldier during the World War, serving first with the English Army and later with the American forces. He was cited for bravery on the field of action, and awarded a military cross, second only to the Victoria Cross.
Mrs. Greer is the daughter of HENRY KLASING of this city, a graduate of the high school here in 1922 and of the school for nurses of the Chicago Presbyterian hospital in 1927. Since then she has been superintendent of the MARK GREER hospital.
Both are popular in social and other circles here. The doctor is a member of the shrine at East St. Louis, of the Elks at Pana, and of the country Club in Vandalia. He is a sportsman, frequently seeking recreation and game in the wilds of Canada.
