(Captain) J. M. BENNETT, of the 9th U.S. Cavalry, left Springfield this morning for New Mexico, to rejoin his command. The captain, whose wife is a niece of Mrs. S. F. GREER [Judge Greer] of this city, was expected to pay Decatur another visit before leaving for the west, but owing to pressing engagements he was compelled to forego that pleasure.
