DUBLIN--April 11th, 1863-- We have had a telegraph message from Londonderry, announcing an agrarian murder in the County of Donegal. The victim, ADAM GRIERSON, was formerly land stewart or Agent of Mr. Adair, who evicted a large number of persons some times ago, in consequence of the prevalence of agrarian outrages on his estate producing a reign of terror among the people, and inflicting serious losses upon the tenants by the destruction of their sheep and other property.....[ADAM] GRIERSON is badly wounded and there is no hope of his recovery. But though in a dying state, he was able to identify a man named BUCKLEY [sic], whom the constabulary had arrested on suspicion, as the person who fired at him.

Ireland (from our own Correspondent)
DUBLIN, October 15th. The impunity that has followed the murder of ADAM GRIERSON, the steward of Mr. ADAIR, has encouraged the Ribandmen to attempt another assasination, and, if the attempt failed to a certain extent, it was not from want of care to secure success....

Death: He liked "the drink" and this seemed to be the root of all his problems. Adam Grierson had a bad temper when drinking. Mary Anna Mitchell [nee Douglas] eventually came back to Scotland with the children sometime between 1865 & 1871 where I pick her up on the census in Castle Douglas. Adam Grierson had asked her not to seek charity from his (2) two elder brothers who were well-off farmers. JAMES GRIERSON at Caigton, Buittle & JOSEPH GRIERSON at Campbellton Farm, Tywhlom, Scotland.
