There is a Susan Grindstaff living in Garrard County, KY in 1820 with one male under 10, one female under 10 and one female over 45. Garrard County is just across the Kentucky River from Jessamine County and, back in the early 1800s before the dams/locks were built, you could cross it on foot. "Susan" is close enough to be "Susannah", and on the same census page are listed several of the Actons (including William) and Henry Grindstaff. I have wondered for several years who Susan's husband was and if she was Charity's mother.
