I only have one Joseph Groves in my files. I have another paper file that
may have more listed. You do not have a hint as to where they migrated
from? My wife's line and my line were from Western Virginia now West Virginia
and probably were German. The other line I spoke of settled in Augusta
County, Va (now Nicholas Co., WV)are reputed to be English. Here is what
I have.

Descendants of Alexander Groves

Generation No. 1

1. ALEXANDER1 GROVES (NOAHA) was born 1814. He married SUSAN. She was born
Abt. 1831.

Notes for ALEXANDER GROVES:
Born 1814 (Believed wrong by DWG) From what I have collected in the 1860
Hardy County VA Census he should have been born about 1825.

Children of ALEXANDER GROVES and SUSAN are:

i.ELLEN2 GROVES, b. Abt. 1855.

ii.ASHFORD GROVES, b. Abt. 1856.

iii.JOSEPH GROVES, b. Abt. 1857.

iv.GEORGE GROVES.

v.ABEL GROVES.

vi.JOHN GROVES, b. 1865, Grant Co., WV; d. 1944; m. MAHALA JANE PHARES;
b. 1866, Near Spruce Mountain, Pendleton Co., WV; d. 1940.

Notes for JOHN GROVES:
I doubt John being a descendant of Solomon H. Groves (DWG)
