Hello GUIDRY Cousins!

I would like to present a statement of the intention/purpose/mission of the
Mail List for the GUIDRY surname and its many spelling variations.

The intention of this list it to promote the free sharing of
information regarding surname GUIDRY and related subject matter.

Related subject matter would be as follows:

1. names of people with and related to the GUIDRY family
2. stories of migration patterns, immigration, historical
sketches, GUIDRY settlements, etc of the GUIDRY family
3. "most wanted" in your list of GUIDRY family
4. new sources for information on the GUIDRY family such as
census data, wills, family Bibles, vital records, web sites, etc.

Please keep in mind when making your postings to the LIST the
following:

-DO continue to participate actively.
-DO include as much information as you can (names, dates,
location, sources information).
-DO encourage your GUIDRY relatives to join the Mailing List.

Now for the hard part:
-DO NOT send attachments (attached files of any sort...this
includes v-cards, GEDCOM files, zipped files or any other type of
attachment).
-DO NOT send copies of complete Digest Mode messages, when
replying to a post. Cut and paste the applicable message in your reply,
only.
-DO NOT repeat the entire "initial" message in your reply.
Include only that portion of the message which is necessary to remind
everyone, what you are replying to. Delete everything else
(including headers, signatures, taglines)...use "cut and paste".
-DO NOT forward virus warnings (most of which are hoaxes) or
chain letters.
-DO NOT use HTML or RTF (rich text format) in your
messages...PLAIN TEXT only.
-DO NOT flame other members of the mailing list. I enjoy lively
debates (especially when they're educational) as much as
anyone...as long as your comments don't get "personal".
