Hello Guidry Cousins:

"Commercials" Day
Technically, RootsWeb has a "no commercial use" policy. Like all
RootsWeb policies, though, the last thing that we want is for
policy to get in the way of our doing genealogy. Therefore, I will briefly
announce resource material at the first of each month on this Mailing List.
While it is my intention to keep this Mailing List
commercial-free on an ongoing basis, I recognize that our research is often
based on finding that special book, that special web site, that special
census etc. and therefore, I will try to post and encourage OTHERS to post
on the first of every month on "Commercials" Day.
Hopefully this will resolve any problems in keeping with these
rules, regulations and policies at RootsWeb.

*****NEW SITE*****
Visit or Join the recent MyFamily.com "The Descendants of Claude Guidry &
Marguerite Petitpas Family Website". This site is available to anyone
wanting to join. This is a place where you can post pictures, documents,
family tales, recipes and any general news. These pictures and such CAN NOT
be sent through this mail list as rootsweb does not support attachments.
The PLAIN text format supported by RootsWeb enables ALL users connected to
the internet to be able to access the mail list or archived messages. If
you haven't and would like to join the MyFamily.com Guidry site mentioned
above just e-mail me for an invitation and password.
As a reminder, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE !! continue to post your questions on
genealogy HERE with . This mail list will be open to
the world for anyone to join and see your family line or questions you post.
It is the BEST place for information to be archived. Post your information
at BOTH places if you want. Please, I do NOT want us to divide ourselves
into two separate groups, that would serve no purpose in our genealogy
search and fun! Thanks for being such a grand group of cousins for me to
join up with.

Listed below is information on the books and newsletter for the
GUIDRY Surname to which I am aware of. There are many others out there. If
you know of some that I haven't mentioned, PLEASE post to the list. There
will be times when we refer to these books in our correspondence. I
strongly urge you each to purchase some of these resources. Also, even
though this information from these books may be used by ourselves and to
share with others to help in their hunt, remember the golden rule to all
genealogy research, get those copies of the documents for your file. These
resources may be a help in pointing you in the right direction to search for
your information.
