Sire, you can find horror stories about HMOs.
But you can find those who sing their praises as well.

Me.

I have had nothing but good experiences in the ten years I have been with a
well known HMO and now with its affilitate that works thru Medicare.
In that time I have had
thyroid surgery
2 cataract surgeries
a laser zap for my eye
knee surgery
a two-week stay in the hospital for a medical condition
four emergency room visits
quarterly blood tests and ekgs
And now a corneal transplant.

Most any one of t he surgeries or lab visits cost me was $5.
All my doctors have been first class.
I have visisted several specialists and was never tujrned down for a visit.

I also have $1000 a year drug benefit.
And I pay $11 a month plus my Medicare.
Beat that.
