My great grandfather Charles STAGE and his wife Dorothy (?) were born in
Germany; the original surname may have been STAIGER. They emigrated before
1870 with their son William E. STAGE. Charles worked in a brass factory in
Waterbury, CT, 1870-1880. In 1880, Charles and his two sons, William E. and
Frederick William, relocated to Shelton, CT. Some time after 1903, the
family moved to West Haven, CT; William ran a barber shop and Charles also
was a barber at one time. I would appreciate information or direction to
find out how and when Charles and his wife came to CT, through what port
they entered USA? Thank you for any assistance.
