I am looking for information on the Robert Anna Banks Turney family. Robert
was the son of Issac and Elizabeth Hubbell Turney. I need the names of
Robert and Anna's children as well as any other information on this family.
I am also looking for Lewis Turney born in 1816 in Bridgeport. He married a
woman named Mary who was also born in CT. They were in Pa by 1837 as their
first first child, Harriett was born there. By 1840, they were in Ohio and
children; Charlotte, George, William and Anna were born there. In 1850, the
family is found in Rockford, IL. However, in 1860, George was in Giles Co.,
TN while Charoltte, William and Anna were living back in Bridgeport with a
Julia Turney Dunning and husband Elijah. Also in the household was Anna
Turney, Julia's Mother. There were two Banks children living in the same house.
Lewis and George were both in the carriage making business. George died in
1883 in Rutherford Co., TN. At the time of his death, he was working at the
Adam Beck Carriage Co. in Murfresboro. Lewis is found in the 1900 census,
visiting his daughter-in-law in Harris Co., TX, where she moved after her
husband died.
Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated. I will gladly
share what I have. This family, to my knowledge, goes back to the Benjamin
Turney who immigrated from England in the 1630s.
Mary Turney
