Q. CT Vital Records: How to Search by Date or Given Name?

From census records and death certificates pertaining to her
children, and family bible records, I know that my great-great-
great-great-grandmother, Louisa (_____) STREETER, was born in
Connecticut on 25 June 1773.

Louisa may have been born to a Baptist family. She was probably a
daughter, sister or widow of one of the CT pioneers who settled in
Bath, Steuben Co., NY before 1807, perhaps after having spent some
period of time in Eastern New York or Pennsylvania.

An exhaustive review of all publicly available records has failed
to yield Louisa's maiden name or identify her birthplace within CT
with any greater precision. I am now considering a comprehensive
review of the available vital records of every town in CT for the
birth of a child named Louisa (Lovica, Lovisa, Louise, Lewisa,
etc.) on 25 June 1773 (1772-1774). I have the following questions
about this "needle in a haystack" approach:

Q. How many towns are there in CT?

Q. For how many CT towns are vital records available?

Q. Of the CT towns for which vital records available, is the
period of interest (1772-1774) available?

Q. Are original CT town vital records organized by date?

Q. Are all original CT town vital records available on microfilm
via LDS Family History Centers?

Q. Do date-ordered extractions of CT town vital records exist in
published form for any town, county, or the entire state?

Q. Do CT town vital records exist in searchable format on-line,
on CD or on other media for any town, county, or the entire
state?

Q. How have others gotten past the no-maiden-name brick wall?

I welcome any additional questions or comments that anyone may have
on this approach to finding Louisa (_____) STREETER's origins.
