Looks like you need to find a WEBSTER book. I've got an Essex Co, MA
NICHOLS family that I have been working on and in so doing, have a few misc.
copies from sources regarding other NICHOLS lines. In NGS Quarterly (1937)
Vol. 25, No. 1, pp.14-24; there is a listing of NICHOLS marriages prior to
1750 which was compiled by Frederic C. Torrey, A.M., Wash. D.C.. No source
for the marriages which are listed mostly by surname of the spouse of the
NICHOLS but he has placed a code next to each NICHOLS name which indicates
which NICHOLS line he believes they came from. One line is that of Cyprian
NICHOLS of Hartford and there are other entries besides your Sarah. These
are the entries linked to WEBSTER:
WEBSTER, Jacob 1700 + Elizabeth Ha-11B
WEBSTER, William 1700 + Sarah (Ha-11A)
(reference nos. in brackets are probable)
This indicates he believes Sarah to be the older sister of Elizabeth. The
author says he has all of the entries on index cards with complete
ancestries and offers assistance to others but the address is from 1937; I
don't know where those index cards are now but if anyone knows - I would
love to take a look at them!
In Clarence Almon Torrey's New England Marriages Prior to 1700, p. 790:
WEBSTER, William (1671-1722) & Sarah NICHOLS, m/2 Samuel CATLIN; ?20 Nov
1700, ?28 Nov 1700; Hartford?, CT
No listing for Jacob WEBSTER and wife. Maybe add a CATLIN genealogy to your
list of sources to find<g>?
