Looking for information on John & Hannah PADGETT/PADGET who
arrived from South Cave, England about 1774 with two sons, John, 2d about
3 yrs old and James about 1 yr.
They migrated to NYS and were living in Troy, NY at time of
Revolutionary War as granddaughter's letter stated that during the war her
grandfather came home from the war and had to move his family to Albany,
NY because of the Tories. By 1790, the Padgett family had located in
Oxford, Chenango co., NY.
Family is well documented from 1790 on but I've hit brick wall in
trying to find any connection with state of Connecticut as it was said
that was where they lived prior to NYS.
Would appreciate hearing from anyone connected with this family or
any connection to Conn. Thanks. Sandy Goodpseed, Maryland, NY
