I believe that before 1900 Everything was handled by town. After that the
counties took over. Over the past few years the state has been microfilming
everything.

The child is not the mere creature of the state; those who nurture him and
direct his destiny have the right, coupled with the high duty, to recognize
and prepare him for additional obligations. (Pierce v. Society of Sisters of
the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, 268 U.S. at 510 (1925).

Hi listers
If someone died in Lebanon, CT, circa 1810, where could I check to write for
a will?

Is it by Town in CT or by County? Does Hartford have all wills and
probates?

Thank you.
