Capt. Thaddeus Bowman, Esq. of Lexington, Mass., son of Capt. Joseph Bowman
& his wife,
Phebe, was b. Sept. 2, 1712. He m. (1) Dec 2, 1736, Sarah Loring b. about
1715, dau of
Deacon Joseph & Lydia Loring of Lexington. She died Dec 23, 1747 aged 33
yrs and he m.
(2) Feb 8, 1753, Sybil Woolson, then of Lexington, widow of Isaac Woolson of
Weston.
Her maiden name was Rooper, and it is probable that she was a dau. of
Ephraim & Sybil
Rooper (or Roper) of Sudbury, Mass. He died in New Braintree, May 26, 1806
aged 93 yrs.
9 mos. and 7 days. Children:
1. Sarah Bowman b. Oct 2, 1737; d. Oct 3, 1742.
2. Edmund Bowman b. Aug 4, 1739; m. (1) May 8, 1760, Esther Hoar of Lincoln,
Mass. She died
July 22, 1780 and he m. (2) (published Oct. 3) 1782, Eunice Mead of Stow,
Mass. He died at
Concord, Mass. Nov 27, 1805 and was buried at Lincoln, Mass. His widow,
Eunice died at
Concord December 1806. He moved to Lincoln about 1765. Children:
1. Edmund Bowman b. at Lexington Aug 14, 176_; died Sept. 22, 1762.
2. Rebecca Bowman b. at Lex., Sept 8, 1762.
3. Sarah Bowman b. at Lex., May 7, 1764; m. (1) Capt. Mills, who migrated
from Mass.
to Cincinnati, Ohio. She m. (2) _____, a physician.
4. Rebecca Bowman b. at Lincoln Aug 27, 1766.
5. Edmund Bown (again) b. at Lincoln Dec 1, 1768.
6. Thaddeus Bowman b. Sept 22, 1771.
7. Rhoda Bowman, a twin, b. Sept 22, 1771.
8. Phebe Bowman b. Sept 24, 1773.
9. Sybil Roper Bowman b. Aug 10, 1776; d. Sept 15, 1778.
by his 2nd wife, Eunice Mead, Edmund Bowman had:
10. Ruth Bowman b. Fec 5, 1783 died at Concord, Mass. Jan 13, 1807.
11. Esther Bowman b. Sept 22, 1786.
3. Joseph Bowman b. Feb 18, 1740-1; was of New Braintree.
4. Thaddeus Bowman b. Feb 10, 1743-3; of Cambridge, Mass., m. Nov 7, 1764,
Elizabeth
Lawrence b. Dec 13, 1741; dau of Jonathan & Elizabeth (Swain) Lawrence of
Lexington & had
a son, Thaddeus Bowman bap. in West Cambridge July 6, 1766. Thaddeus Bowman
and wife
Elizabeth were dismissed from Lexington Church to Winchendon, May 26, 1776.
5. Solomon Bowman, a twin b. Feb 10, 1742/3 of Thaddeus, died June 6, 1744
6. Solomon Bowman (again) b. June 2, 1744; a Lieutenant in the 25th Reg. of
the Continental
Army; in 1775 was in the battle of Bunker Hill and was killed in the battle
of Monmouth.
7. Joshua Bowman b. Jan 22, 1746-7; went to Wilkesbarre, Penn., thence to
Ohio, and has
descendants living on the Muskingum River.

By his 2nd wife, Sybil Woolson, Capt. Thaddeus Bowman, Esq., had:
8. Samuel Bowman b. Dec 2, 1753.
9. Sarah Bowman b. July 4, 1755; died soon.

10. Ebenezer Bowman b. July 3, 1757; grad. Harvard College 1782; was of
Wilkesbarre.
11. Gideon Bowman b. Sept 30, died Oct 20, 1759.
12. Lucy Bowman b. Jan 21, 1761; m. at Waltham, Mass., June 17, 1790, Rev.
Richard R. Elliot
of Watertown, his 2nd wife (his first wife was _____ Saltonstall).
13. Sybil Bowman b. Aug 2, 1764; d. Dec 2, 1765.
