'Goochland County, Virginia Wills and Deeds, 1736 - 1742 as abstracted and
compiled by Benjamin B. Weisiger, III, Reprinted by Iberian Publishing,
1997:

Page 88 Deed 20 January 1737 Abell Croom, of Goochland Co., to Robert Smith
of Gloucester Co., for 40 lbs (it could be read as 40 pounds sterling not
sure of symbol) 200 acres on south side of James River on Deep Creek and
Jones Creek, being land taken by Samuel Arinton, and by him sold to Robert
Carter, and by him sold to John Michaux, and by him sold to Daniel Croom,
and left in his will to his son Abell Croom; with all houses, etc.
Witnessed by John Twitty, Stephen Bedford, Richard Manning, John Retterford
Signed by Abel Croom Recorded 21 March 1737.
This land pertaining to the above transaction appears to be on the same
Jones Creek as our George Smith married to Ann Bailey/Baley had his acreage.
