Here is the Hadley Society address and persons who submitted the information on
the above family to Rootsweb.com. In additon to being a Hadley Descendant, I
am also descended from Thomas Mendenhall. I live 2 miles from the Deep
Creek Monthly Meeting in Yadkin County, NC over 1/2 of the 1793 founders of that
church were my relatives. William Wade Hinshaw and I are cousins fhrough our
Doane and Johnson Families.

This is in reference to a query dated 08/12/2002 from Norma, to which
Ray
Parker has replied in his mailings of 08/12/2002.

I am aware of statements that Abigail Hadley, daughter of Simon Hadley
and
Mary Spencer, married Jacob Brown, Jr. , but Abigail Hadley is not
listed
among the children of Simon and Mary (Spencer) Hadley in "A Hadley
Genealogy", compiled by Curtis Healton.

I have not been able to find on my computer the data from Rootsweb.com
which
Ray Parker has listed in his latest e-mail. It would be helpful if Ray
Parker
could provide a more complete internet address.

There are other variations in the listing of the children of Simon
Hadley and
Mary Spencer, between what Curtis Healton has provided and what Ray
Parker
has given.
I would like to know the sources of both listings. I understand that
Healton's listing may be partially derived from records of Deep Creek
MM of
Friends, but that these are not complete.

About 1998 I endeavored to amplify the record of descendants of Simon
Hadley
and Bridget Foote and forwarded my data to the Hadley Society in
California.
I am actually not a descendant of this branch of the Hadley family,
but I had
some data available. Through my Mendenhall ancestry, I am related to
the
Brown family of which Jacob Brown, Jr. was a member.

I would appreciate knowing how to locate Ray Parker's data on the
internet,
with any possible indication of sources.
