Thanks for your comments on the Haglers. We have been aware of the WVA
Haglers for some time but have never made a connection to our line. If I
remember correctly the WVA Haglers settled at Mill Creek and supposedly 4
brothers fought in the French and Indian War.
There is a tradition in our branch that our Haglers migrated from
Pennsylvania to North Carolina in a wagon train with the Long and Clontz
families but we have never been able to prove that. That tradition and other
lore, facts, etc., are in my book, Trail of the Haglers, Second Edition, by
Travis Jackson Hagler, Library of Congress No. 96-7959. If you or any one in
your area is interested, you should be able to obtain a copy via the Internet
Library Loan Service. Or, copies are available from me for $45 which includes
shipping.
