Felicia,
I don't have any specific information on your Hagler family, but I do have a fair amount of information from the records of my 3rd Gr. Uncle, John L. Hagler's, estate after he died and other deed records. My 3rd Gr. Uncle had quite a lot of slaves and I have records listing the names of the slaves and ages. He died in 1857 in Henry Co., TN.
I keep in touch with a lady whom I believe is descended from some of John L. Hagler's slaves. We have not found definite proof, but it appears that there is a connection. The lady that I keep in touch with, knows that her Hagler family was from Henry and Carroll Co.s in TN.
I also have a copy of a Slave Narrative of an Eliza Hagler, whose mother was a slave on one of John L. Hagler's places. Eliza was then given to John's son, Felix when he married. The narrative is quite stiring and insightful to how times were in the early 1800's in the south.
My Hagler family descends from John Hagler and Elizabeth Van Hooser of Wilkes Co., NC.
If I can be of any help, I would really like to hear from you.
Regards..Sharon Hagler
