hello-

my name is Dorie Hagler and I am just beginning to research geneology
about my family.

My father's parents were distant cousins who both had the last name of
Hagler. Rhea ( Rose) Hagler and Adolf Hagler. The little that I know is
that my grandfather was born in Austria and my grandmother was born in
Poland. They were both Jewish.

I am interested in finding out more about the Hagler family because
although it seems as though my family's background is Eastern European
Jew, I am wondering if it is possible that there are some Sephardic roots.

I live in New Mexico and many of the Spanish "crypto jew" families from
this region who came to the United states to escape persecution from Spain
look a lot like my own relatives. I am often mistaken for someone from
one of these families and I am wondering if I have any family links to
Spain.
