Subject: [HALE-L] HALE web site - Posting Family Trees
Date: Sun, 04 Jun 2000 18:52:16 +0900

Hello Everyone.

Many of you have probably had a quick look at my web site in recent months.
Thanks for dropping by! If you havent seen it the site is at:

http://users.senet.com.au/~dhale/haletree/index.htm

I have recently redesigned the site to include pages for posting of HALE
family trees for England and Australia. I am particularly interested in
developing the English HALEs pages at the moment, and have begun by posting
some information that I have uncovered over the years. If I know of a
researcher for a particular HALE family I have included and e-mail link to
that person with the tree. I have decided to organise the pages by county,
but am in the process of setting up an search engine enabling the all pages
on the site to be searched. There are some problems at the moment, but
hopefully it will all be working soon.

Please take the time to check out the site. Use the English Hales link to
the left to find the main posting page, then select a county from the
table. If you are interested in posting your tree on my site feel free to
send an outline descendant tree to me. I will upload it as soon as I can,
including an e-mail link to you. It can include as many English HALE
generations as you like.

I have two requirements for posting trees:

1) That the tree is of an English HALE family. I am willing to include
information for ONE generation outside of England (ie. parents born in
England, but children born in U.S.A, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, etc.)
I am developing this as an aid to researchers of English HALE families, and
due to space restrictions on my server I cannot include too much
information from other countries.

2) That you help me somewhat by providing trees in the following format,
and if you can, with
included at the end of each line. This will save
me many hours of work! Thanks!! I generally include generation numbers
starting with the first known family member. If your family frequently
moved from one county to another I will include the relevant trees on each
county page, and link individuals to other counties relating to them. ie
Mary HALE is born in Berkshire, marries in Hampshire, and has Children in
Kent and Middlesex. I will include links from one county to the next as she
moves around.

Please supply information thus:

1 John Hale
Born: circa 1700, Henley-Upon-Thames, Oxfordshire.
Buried: 4 April 1761, All Saints Parish Church, Wokingham, Berkshire.
+ Rose Skye
Baptised: 30 September 1703, All Saints Parish Church, Wokingham,
Berkshire.
Married: 2 October 1729, All Saints Parish Church, Wokingham, Berkshire.
Buried: 28 November 1751, All Saints Parish Church, Wokingham, Berkshire.
Father: Nathanial Skye. Mother: Avelin Skye.

2 Hannah Hale
Baptised: 2 August 1730, All Saints Parish Church, Wokingham, Berkshire.
+Thomas Maurice
Married: 22 December 1754, All Saints Parish Church, Wokingham, Berkshire.

3 Rose Maurice
Baptised: 23 January 1756, All Saints Parish Church, Wokingham, Berkshire.
Buried: 9 February 1756 (Deceased Infant), All Saints Parish Church,
Wokingham, Berkshire.
A more basic tree could be:

1 Thomas William HALE
+Ann Jane UNKNOWN

2 Annie Rosa Adelaide HALE
Baptised: 30 Aug 1868, St. Mary Magdalene, Woolwich, Kent.

2 Richard William HALE
Baptised: 19 Sep 1869, St. Mary Magdalene, Woolwich, Kent.

2 Thomas Benjamin HALE
Baptised: 18 Jun 1871, St. Mary Magdalene, Woolwich, Kent.
etc. You will get the idea from looking at some of the trees posted on my
web site. I will also post other information, such as census data, if it is
all that you know about a particular family. An outline tree can include as
little or as much information as you would like to display. It can be just
names, dates and places if you like. On the web pages each generation will
be indented slightly from the last, in classic outline descendant tree format.

Ther reason I am doing all of this is because my research has stalled. I
have in fact been stuck for about six years!! So managing a HALE web site
keeps me interested while helping out other researchers. And you never
know, we might just be related!

Any feedback, thoughts, ideas or comments welcome. And of course, family
trees!

Regards,

David Hale,
Adelaide,
South Australia.
