to remove one of his legs, just below the knee. Caroline says the main worry is the question of whether his heart will be strong
enough to cope with the anaesthetic.

Following the operation Chris will spend a few days in the intensive care ward and then be sent elsewhere to convalesce and learn to
adapt and cope without his leg.
