My goodness!! The man is a true brit with all the grittiness of a Northerner - although he is a Southerner!! Perhaps they are not so soft 'dhan'south' as I thought.

I have just had a word with Chris himself on his mobile and read out a list of all of you who have sent me messages for him.
He was very touched by the fact you all took the trouble to send him your best wishes.

He said he has told the operating team that he is an international 'celebrity' so they must take extra care of him.

Amazingly, Chris has managed to keep his sense of humour - in true Chris style he asked me to tell you all that 'after tomorrow he will be footloose and fancy free, and soon to be up and hopping around again'!!!!!!!

Nothing more to be said is there really.
