Hi List, can anyone tell me if Landport and Portsea Island are both the
same place within Portsmouth? I am based in Nottingham and I have just
received a marriage certificate from Portsmouth Register Office. The
Marriage is from 1855 in Portsea Island Register Office, I did not know
there were Registry offices back then, Just shows how much I know!! . The
happy couple were Robert LEIGHTON and Elizabeth DAVIS. Living at 6 Sidney
Place and 6 Pitt St respectively, both in Landport. Can someone please
enlighten me on these locations?
