As I wrote Tim last night, I have information about Moses Hanks.
Unfortunately for "Granny", Moses and his family left Pittsylvania County
about 1790 and moved to Pulaski County, KY where Rev. Thomas Hanks, his son,
married Sarah Hill about 1798. Moses and his wife Aggatha Dodson (the daughter
of Thomas "Second Fork" Dodson and -allegedly and probably-Mary Neville)
followed Thomas and several other children when they moved south to Maury
County, TN several years later. Moses and Aggatha both died in Maury County
circa 1830.

"My" Thomas Hanks was a Primitive Baptist minister who eventually moved to
Texas shortly after the state was open. His children, including my 2great
grandfather James Steele Hanks, went with him to Anderson County.

The Hanks list-owner, Glenn Gohr, is also a descendent of Moses, albeit
through his daughter Elizabeth.
