From the section on Unplaced Hanks in the upcoming revised second edition of Adin Baber's "The Hanks Family of Virginia and Westward":
"Was MARY ELIZABETH born HANKS? She was wife of (1) Jonathan Welden, Pittsylvania Co., VA. Jonathan d. 1782. His will mentioned Moses Hanks, Fortunatus Dodson and John Creel. Moses Hanks was an executor.
Mary Elizabeth m. (2) William Pearman. He d. 1788. Mary Elizabeth took her younger children and moved to SC near Luke Hanks II and wife, Ann. Was Isaac Welden the eldest son of Mary Elizabeth?"
