Cousins and Friends in Genealogy.
There has been much discussion on the list about the subject Hardy. It
appears that most researchers are using Hardy and Hardie and/or Hardy's
of America. I have not seen Hardy's of America but I do have a copy of
Hardy and Hardie. In light of all the discussion I would like to
recommend a look at the following references:

Early Settlers of Rowley, Massachusetts compiled by George Brainard
Blodgette,
Revised, edited, and published by Amos Everette Jewett 1933.
A History of Lewiston, Maine by Janus G Elder 1989.
Descendants of Simeon and James Hardy by Walter C Allen 1918.
The Hardy Family of Bradford, compiled by David W Hoyt 1911.
Ipswich in the Massachusetts Colony by Thomas Franklin Waters 1905.
History of Ipswich, Essex, and Hamilton by Joseph B Felt 1834.
The Pioneers of Massachusetts by Charles Henry Pope 1900.
Records of the Hardy Family who have lived in East Bradford and
Groveland by
William B Ladd 1903.
Genealogical Dictionary of the First Settlers of New England by James A
Savage 1969.
The Great Migration Begins, Immigrants to New England 1620-1633 by
Robert
Charles Anderson 1995
The Ancestry of Samuel Blanchard Ordway 1844-1916 by Dean Crawford Smith

and Melinde Lutz Sanborn 1990.
The Vital Records of Bradford, Essex County, MA.
The Essex Probate Records.
Hardy and Hardie Past and Present by H Claude hardy and Rev Edwin Noah
Hardy 1935.
The Winthrop Fleet of 1630 by Charles Edward Banks 1968.
Various volumes from the Essex Institute Collections, 1859-1959 (Salem
MA).
Also the library of the New England Historic Genealogical Society Boston
MA and the
records available in Ipswich MA.
These references will answer many questions and no doubt generate new
ones.
It is my philosophy that there is no room for a closed mind in
genealogy. Even though I believe Thomas had one wife named Ann, I am
open to have my mind changed. I need to see original documentation.
Before this message gets too long I need to mention that my line from
Thomas is through son John then Joseph, James, James, Jr, James, Albert,
Isaac, Albert C and then myself.
I hope the above will be of help.
Al
