Let me post my Thomas Hardie again for any new members of the list. Their
last name is spelled either way depending on the census taker/court clerk.

Most of this data came from the book Hardie, Vincent, Gaines and Related
Families from Virginia to Texas by Robert M. Clark.

Gen 1: John Hardie m Rachel ? in Prince George Co., VA

Gen 2: John Hardie d. 1773 in Sussex Co. m. Sarah ???

Gen 3: Thomas Hardie (Rev) b 1766 in Sussex Co and married Sarah
Featherstone in Chesterfield Co, VA, 27 October 1791. Sarah was the daughter
of Henry Featherstone and Elizabeth Marshall. Rev. Hardie was a Methodist
minister who had circuits in Bladen Co, NC, in 1788; in Orange Co VA in 1789;
in Chesterfield Co; in Petersburg; and in Charlotte Co, VA (1804). He was in
Mecklenburg Co VA in 1806 when he died.

John Henry Hardie b 1794 m Mary Ray Moss 1816 moved to Rowan Co, NC

all born in Smith or Macon Co. TN

Elizabeth Hardie b 1826
Mary Jane Hardie b 1827 m. Michael Shrader
Susan Hardie b 1832
Tabitha Hardie b 1834
William H. Hardie b 1840
Lucy Hardie b 1841
Amanda Hardie b 1844
The family moved to Montgomery Co, TN in 1853. Then moved to Stewart Co, TN
and then to Trigg Co KY.

I am a descendant of this Thomas L. Hardie through his daughter Mary Jane
Hardie Shrader. I know most of his land purchases and moves up until 1880.
Would love to know more, especially to learn the name of his wife..
