Here is some information regarding Benjamin & Karrenhappoch
(Gillison) Harris and family. If you can correct or add any
information to it, please let me know so that my information can be
more correct.

Benjamin Harris, s/o Claiborne "Ned" & Judith ( )Harris, was born
1763 in Granville County, North Carolina. Between 1780-1785,
probably in South Carolina (not proven one way or the other) he
married Karenhappoch Gillison, d/o Archibald & Jean ( ) Gillison.
Karen was born Abt. 1764 in South Carolina and died Aft. 1835 in
Forsyth County, Georgia. Benjamin died 1833 in Anderson District,
South Carolina.

Power of Attorney ...... Benjamin Harris, late of North Carolina,
more recently of Pendleton District appoint Richard Major and Walter
Bell, of Jackson County, Georgia attorney to receive lands in State
of Tennessee, claimed by Claiborn Harris, dec'd for services done by
his as a regular soldier in the Revolution then a citizen of
Greenville (sic) County, North Carolina under comand of Col. William
Taylor. Wit: Josiah Prewit, Polly Harris
Recorded: 6 November 1819

1833 - Anderson District, South Carolina --- Benjamin Harris' Will
Son James Harris was administrator of estate. Sale value was $438.27.
Administration expenses amounted to $60.53, leaving $378.73 to be
divided one third to the widow and two thirds to the children. The
girls were excluded from the settlement because of peroperty given
them by their father during his lifetime.
