I believe this Rebecca Harris b.10 Oct 1799 married her cousin, yet another Benjamin Harris b.1785, probably one of the younger sons of Matthew and Elizabeth (Tate) Harris:

John Vogt and T. W. Kethley, Albemarle County, Virginia Marriages 1780-1853, (Iberian Publishing, Athens, GA 1991), p.151
"Benjamin Harris & Rebecca Harris 7 Jan 1828; [Marr. Reg., 1806-1868, fol.40] b-Samuel W. Harris d-Benjamin Harris, who gives his consent wit-Samuel W. Harris & Margaret Woods [B/C Papers, 1822-29]."

You can see a family Bible record for her marriage ("January 15, 1828 Tuesday") in online Bible Records for the family of Benjamin and Mary (Woods) at the Library of Virginia; look at "Bible Record Image #2" at: http://lvaimage.lib.va.us/Bible/21028/index.html .

It appears that this couple may be living near Benjamin's widowed mother in the 1830 Census for Nelson Co., Virginia:

Benjamin and Rebecca Harris are in the 1850 Census for Albemarle Co., Virginia, with four children:

13 Nov 1850

Rebecca 50 F
Benjamin 22 M
Mary E. 20 F
Henry T. 18 M
Samuel 14 M.

They are in the 1860 Census for St. Anne's Parish, Albemarle Co. as well; then Rebecca only in 1870.

Also, I have a note that there is a Benjamin Harris who served in War of 1812 with a widow Rebecca applying for a pension from Virginia. Note is from p.192, of "War Of 1812: Virginia Bounty Land & Pension Applicants - A quick reference guide to ancestors having War of 1812 service who served, lived, died, or married in Virginia or West Virginia" by Wardell, Patrick G.; Heritage Books 1987. It might be worthwhile to obtain a copy of her application file from the Nat'l Archives for further information about the family.

Matthew Harris b.25 Nov 1737 was the older brother of Rebecca's father Benjamin Harris b.30 Jan 1754 and they were two of the four sons of William and Mary (Nederland) Harris of early Albemarle Co., Virginia. (The other two sons were John Harris of Albemarle Co. and William Harris of Nelson Co. who married Elizabeth Wagstaff. Descendents of Matthew and Elizabeth (Tate) Harris (DNA Kit #9303) and Benjamin and Mary (Woods) Harris (DNA Kit #8889) form Harris DNA Group 7.

It appears that two of Rebecca's older siblings also married offspring of her uncle Matthew Harris. Her older sister Mary Woods Harris b.24 Aug 1788 married Matthew's son Henry T. Harris b.26 Mar 1787:

John Vogt and T. W. Kethley, Albemarle County, Virginia Marriages 1780-1853, (Iberian Publishing, Athens, GA 1991), p.152
"Henry T & Mary W Harris 9 Apr 1811; [Marr Reg 1806-1868, fol.11] b-William A. Harris d-Benjamin Harris, who gives consent wit-William A. Harris & L? W. Harris [B/C Papers, 1803-12]."

Also, Rebecca's oldest brother, William A. Harris b.5 Sep 1786 married Matthew's granddaughter Elizabeth Harris b.1789, dau of his son Schuyler :

John Vogt and T. W. Kethley, Albemarle County, Virginia Marriages 1780-1853, (Iberian Publishing, Athens, GA 1991), pg.154
"Harris, William A & Elizabeth Harris 1 Sep 1810 [Marr Reg 1806-1868, fol.9] b-Henry T. Harris, who affirmed Elizabeth upwards of 21 years d-Skiler Harris [B/C Papers 1803-1812]."

Hope this helps,
Christine Schomaker
