Greetings...
...just got back online after some puter problems and am glad to see
HASKINS being researched!! I have a line of HASKINS that started in NY/CT
in 1700's; they went to Vermont, then some moved to Ohio. I don't have any
further info on the Ohio folks...although I would love to do the collateral
lines. I believe it's a William that went to Ohio....i'm adding my HASKINS
line in hopes it helps someone.

160.). He married MARY BELL Abt. 1770, daughter of SAMUEL BELL and MARTHA
WARREN.

Entry looks like Hopkins due to handwriting of that time.

Abel was one of three surveyors for the town in 1772, listed in roll of
Freemen of Danby, constable 1775-1776. "The First Baptist Society was formed
in 1781, and the Rev. Hezekiah Eastman was the first settled minister. Early
members were Stephen Calkins and Abel Haskins" History of Danby, Vt. pg. 92.
