Dear List,

Just got back from Kawaiahao Church . The cemtary there is in
three parts . The first is the crypt of King LUNALILIO . This crypt is
in frount of the church and Surrounded by a heavy iron fence. On the
gates of this fence are the seals of the state of Hawaii and on the
crypt itself are the words
LUNALILO
KA MOI
1874

In the back of the church is the Mission Houses Cemetary a
beautiful place shaded by trees . This is a dencely packed cemetary and
is were the missionaries and there families are buried .This place is a
very soleum and diginified cemetary and although small has the remains
of many of the biggest names in Hawaii.
Although I was chased out by some rain that threatened to ruin
my transciptions of the grave stones ther I will be going back in the
near future to continue work on it.
I will only put the names of the people that I have transcribed
here but if you need the full information on a person let me know and I
will get that to you. Also if you are a relative of anyone here I will
take a photo of the headstone next week and mail it to you.
Lastly there is a third much bigger part of the cemetary which
has at least 800 graves in it of church members I am debateing how to
handle this and if anyone wants to volunteer a hour or two of a sunday
to help me finish up that portion please email me.This will not be done
in one sitting and represents a long term project .

transcibed so far all of which will be put into a txt file for the
HIGENWEB ARCHIVES.
