One of you were kind enough to let me know the website for accessing public records that I hadn't checked out yet isn't exactly what I thought it was.

Sorry for any inconvenience to any of you. I passed it along without checking it out as I got it from a reliable person. She hadn't checked it out yet either. Well, what can I say except "Lessons Learned". Will know better to check things out first.

However, the website for for the Bureau of Land Management to check on Land grants was good for me. I got a copy of a relatives land grant from 1839 in Illinois.
