Someone emailed me asking me to look up a name on the Larkin list, but I

In Monterey, Mexican Province of California, there were no schools and
English speaking citizens sent their children to the Oahu Charity
School. One of the first to go was six year old Oliver Larkin who sailed
on the ship Alciope, 377 tons, in 1840.
His father was Thomas Larkin, the first and only American Consul at
Monterey.
