Hi Everyone,
I think I have asked this before, but I don't think I got too many responses.
Does anyone know anything about Hawaiian naming practices, customs and/or traditions?
Grandpop Dave's surname - KAHANA - is suppose to be a shortened version of a longer name (this according to family story). I think this may be the reason why I cannot find any information or documentation about him.
Are there any clues to look for? Would it possibly be a combination of his parent's names and KAHANA? Would it have been shortened when he entered the U.S.? Would the name KAHANA actually be part of the full name?
Thanks again. You guys are all a tremendous help to me. I appreciate it.
Dee
