Hi List,
I've transcribed and created a web site for an 8 page "Extra" that was
published by the Honolulu Star-Bulletin in the afternoon of December 7, 1941.
I found the newspaper in my Father's effects after his death in the first
week of 2000. My Father, Herbert Louis Keller, was a Navy aircraft mechanic
in Hawaii during World War II. He told me that when he was assigned to Hawaii
some of the buildings there were still smoking.
The address of my web site is:
_http://freepages.history.rootsweb.com/~keller/news/work/index.html_
(http://freepages.history.rootsweb.com/~keller/news/work/index.html) The pages of the web site are laid out in columns similar
to the original newspaper. I wasn't able to duplicate the type fonts or
scan the photos because of the age of the paper. As in any disaster the "facts"
are a mixture of rumors, truth and mistakes. The names of very many people
are on these pages.
Have a great day,
Charlie Keller
