I was born in Hilo Hospital mid-century, and I think it was old then. It's
in Keaukaha, just past the turn for Rainbow Falls. It was abandoned in the
60s for what had been the TB hospital -- I used to be a Candy Striper there
which is the one still in use, enlarged and updated. And still in Keaukaha,
just up the road from the old hospital. Last I knew the old hospital is still
there. It was used as a base for training Peace Corps volunteers in the 60s.
