fyi, not sure how many of you know this, but www.hawaiiankingdom.org has a
registry of naturalized subjects in the hawaiian kingdom between 1840 and
1893. many of the foreigners (mostly men) who came here during that period
married women from hawaii and became naturalized subjects of the kingdom.
the list is also found at the archives, but now it's up online. holbron is
listed. i believe a street in waikiki is named after one of their
descendants. also came across this interesting website/page:
