I have been researching The Crook Family for some time. James W.
Crook's marriage records in Harrison Co clearly list his parents as
Zephaniah and Margaret Crook. William Crook's marriage record in Lewis
Co also list his parents as Zephaniah and Margaret Crook. Margaret
Crook is listed in the 1850 Lewis Co Census with two Children - William
and George. Other information is listed below in notes associated with
Zephaniah Crook. Other children listed for Zephaniah and Margaret Crook
are assumed to be their children based on the fact that the only Crook
found in Harrison or Lewis Cos is Margaret and James Crook. Mary Ann
Crook (my gggrandmother) married James Edward Gaines in Harrison Co.
James Crook married and lived in Harrison Co. George W. married and
lived in Lewis Co. William G. Crook lived in Lewis and Doddridge
Cos. Additional information on the Gaines family can be found in the
Gaines Family History by Mrs Harold (Mary) Kimmins. Information on the
Strader family can be found in the Strader Family History by Hartzel

WM 40-50, 1 WF 30-40, 2 WM 00-05, 2 WM 05-10, 2 WF 05-10, and 1 WF
15-20.
This is the only census record. However, a Zephaniah Crook is listed on
the
Rent Rolls of 1779 with 176 acrees.
