Hello to all the Healys out there. My GG grandmother was Mary Healy. "My" Mary was married to Patrick O'Beirne. They were married in Rawlins Wyoming - not sure of the year but from what I have learned, Patrick came to the US from Roscommon Ireland in about 1865 (age 15). Mary had 7 brothers and I believe she was the only girl. There is a picture of all of them that I have sent to Ed Healy's web site and he graciously posted it along with a few others I found. http://healyfn.com/forum.html
I know they were married in Wyoming but I don't know any of the circumstances that surround it. I can only assume that Mary's family must have been living there at the time. Considering there were 7 brothers, the roots must be scattered far and wide. Mary and Patrick had 4 children - Margaret O'Beirne (born in NM - don't know what year), Mae O'Beirne was born in Spring Valley, IL in 1887, John O'Beirne - not sure of his birthdate, and Charles O'Beirne (my grandfather) born in 1891 - not sure where. Patrick worked for the Railroad and they must have moved frequently. They did move to Toluca, IL around 1896 and lived there until 1921 when they moved to Chicago.
As far as the brothers - I know next to nothing about them. I know that one owned a business in Rawlins. I have a postcard picture of Pat Healy (posted on healyfn.com) and I think his wife in front of their store front. The back of the card is postmarked Rawlins, WYO on April 24, 1915. It was sent to Mrs. P. O'Beirne, Box 5, Toluca, IL. There is really not much writing other than he mentions that he could not get Bertha in this picture because she was still sick.
The only other name I can remember was Dan Healy. I can't be sure but one of the brothers (maybe Dan) was some kind of Sheriff or Lawman in Wyoming. I also have a few photos of cowboy hat fellows on horses.
I have a newspaper clipping notice for Dan Healy. I can't believe it has no date! The clipping only says that Dan Healy, 79 years old and a long time resident of this city?, passed away at 2 o'clock at the Memorial Hospital. Dan had suffered complications from a fall and suffered a fractured leg and hip. He was waked at the Rasmusson Mortuary. It must be from our Healys or they certainly would not have saved the clipping.
Again, with 7 brothers - there has to be a lot of decendents out there. would like to share.
One question...is there a message board where these entries may be viewed?
Any response to this message are welcome!
