I am looking for any information on John Heath mentioned above. I believe
he is the one in the Bartholomew Heath book, but Valerie says that one
stayed in OH, was married twice and had no children.
I think he got married in Tuscarawas Co., OH to Euphemia Shaffer, had a
couple of kids and then moved to Morgan Twp., Owen Co., IN where he was a
school teacher for, I think, the rest of his life.
He had a son, John Calvin (or Galvin) Heath b.1842 in OH, probably
Tuscarawas Co., who apparently married Mary Beaman Oct. 30, 1864. They had
a son, Maryfield Heath b. Sept. 1, 1865, who was my grandfather. They
also, supposedly had another son, Marion, but I don't know when unless they
were twins... One of my aunts says that she remembers going to Marion's
funeral in Belle Union, IN in the 1920s or 30s. Mary died about 6 weeks
after Maryfield was born and he was left with an aunt and uncle (William
Harrison McCullough and Hannah Heath McCullough). This John Heath went
somewhere, possibly Gas City, IN, married and raised another family. He
had some contact with the rest of the family, but never came back for
Maryfield (or Marion for all I know).
Thank you for your time and attention
Jim Heath
