I have good documentation for the seond generation on this descendant chart, but have relied on others for the connection to the first listed, ie. Johann Peter Hickman. I descend from Sarah Hickman who married Samuel Kingery, generation 3, below.

1. JOHANN PETER1 HICKMAN was born Abt. 1712 in Hainbrunn Germany, and died 1775 in Berks co, PA. He married Elisabetha Margeretha LANG in Germany?.

JOHANN PETER HICKMAN said born in Germany, listed in Strassburger and Hinke as arriving PA, 15 Sep 1748, Ship Judith from Rotterdam, out of Cowes, England. The Brethren Encyclopedia adds that Johann Peter "became associated with the Brethren settlement along the Little Swatara River in Tulpehocken Township, Berks Co, PA.......In 1770 he was preaching for the Little Swatara congregation althought not yet ordained. By 1754, he is found on the tax rolls of Tulpehocken Township.

One source says he died 1764 in Macungie Twnshp, Northhampton, PA. but does not make clear whether this comes from Heckman Genealogy Clearinghouse, or World family Tree, "Families of Dark County" .
