End, London. His fathers name was James Thomas Hedges and his mother was
Mary Ann Elizabeth Hedges (nee East). I don't know how many brothers and
sister he had, if any. I do know that he married Edith Annie Andrews at
Saint Lukes Church in the parish of Victoria docks,West Ham & Essex. That
was in 1913. They went on to have seven sons, one of whom died when still an
infant and one girl (my mum).

I wonder how many of us are actually related? I read with interest the
other day an e-mail from of course a Hedges, that stated that they could
trace there branch of the family back to a Romany. I have always thought
that my grandfather did not look English, rather mid european. Wonder if
his roots were with the Romany? Could be why my mum, when she was younger
liked to move around and would often joke that she had a little gypsy in
her!!!!

work with has just come back from N.Z (she's kiwi of course!) and said it
was quite cool compared to here!

HI Kathy
Thanks for your letter.
We may all be related. My grandad had 9 brothers so I'm told. Andrew,Tiny
and Harry are the only names I have.
My grt grandad lived in Upton on Severn. My dad was born in Birmingham. He
now lives in Westport N.Z. They do move around.I have no idea where my
grandad was born.
If you think you may have Romany connections you could join The Romany and
Travellers Society. They have a magazine put out every 3 months. It's
interesting to read.
My dad had black hair and blue eyes. Dad said that was the gypsy in him. One
of my daughters has dark hair and blue eyes as well.
We are now having really hot days for us. Summer is here at last after over
a month of rain.
Cheerio for now
Christine
