Dear Sue,
Apologies re the e-mail I sent -it was returned to me as our younger daughter and grandson of 9 months were visiting, so concentrated on enjoying their short stay. They live in New South Wales on a farm,some 1200km from here, so visits are rare.Simon, Sally's husband makes wonderful soft cheeses.

I have a photo of the happy couple on the "Hobsons Bay" and I have no idea why my father was in such haste as the marriage was doomed due to the rather feral attitude of my mother.Her parents had hoped to reform her from her predatory ways when it came to men, but this did not work. Her parents were quite alarmed at what transpired and wanted to know if my father had paid for her fare ,etc.
Should you want a copy of the newspaper article and or photo please let me know. My mother was in fact rather unstable and her expectations of marriage were out of kilter with the real world.
