My grandmother's maiden name was Maria Heitmann, born as nearly as I can tell in Westervesede which apparently is near Scheessel. Her mother's name was also Maria, and was a Behrends by birth. My grandmother married Johann Meyer, moving to Byron, Nebraska around 1890, where she lived until her death in 1954. Would be interested in hearing from you.
